| 'Nicki' is an Oldenburg
filly. Her dam, Midnight Gal, was a Premium foal producer.
Her sire, Hawthorne, was in training with his trainer Barb Strawson, of Hilltop Farm, and Nicole Uphoff, in Germany.
Hawthorne was very successful at Intermediare and Grand
Prix in Germany with Barb before he was retired..
'Nicki' is spectacular. She is a very
elegant mare and a simply
incredible mover and has the nicest disposition you can
imagine. Nicki spent one month at
Hilltop Farm as a 2 year old for in-hand training and
earned a '10' for temperament from Scott Hassler and the
staff. She
has competed in a show and earned 2 ribbons her
first time out. She again is showing herself to be very
sensible and a quick learner. She shows a very nice frame
and topline and 3 very nice, pure, correct gaits with a
lot of reach. She tries her heart out for you and is very
rideable. In fact she just passed her Mare Performance
Test with very good scores for gaits, rideability and
jumping.
Hawthorne's sire, Olympic Cocktail was
named a 'keur' stallion. He recently passed away and there
aren't many more like him. He was Number 6 on the World
List of Dressage Sires when he was alive.
Another son of Cocktail, Radar, out of
a Le Mexico mare, placed from 2nd to 6th in the
prestigious Series of 4 Competitions for 4 year old
Stallions in the Netherlands in November 2002 through
January 2003. His overall placing at the final for the
series, which was held at s'Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch) on
January 31st, 2003, was 4th with a score of 75.0. This was
a 'Classe L' competition, or approximately 1st - 2nd level
test.
She is due to Hit Parade around the end
of May/beginning of June, and will be bred to Bugatti
Hilltop this year.
